International Interiors Design Expo Award

The International Interiors Design Expo (IIDEX) Award is granted by the Interior Designers of Canada.

Along with many other entries, the Renaissance Rumford 1000H fireplace was scrutinized by the judges at Toronto’s annual IIDEX architect trade show.  While we’re used to having the Renaissance under the microscope for its emissions, the architectural and design community has other requirements above and beyond its environmental impact.  The fire has to be large enough to make it the focal point within the room, the fireplace design must meet their aesthetic expectations and the facing has to lend itself to a variety of styles.  The Renaissance blew them away, and as a result, an IIDEX Award is ours.

Recently the Renaissance was the first fireplace in history to win a Clean Air Excellence Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which is testament to its outstanding performance.  But the Renaissance was designed to look as good as it works.  The Renaissance design incorporates a beautiful herringbone firebox with a unique counterweighted guillotine glass door.  These features, combined with its clean face which provides a blank canvas for the fireplace designer were key to the architectural and design community’s recognition.
