With its hideaway door, the Renaissance is the ultimate clean face wood burning fireplace. The mechanical parts disappear leaving a gorgeous herringbone firebox and providing a clean canvas for the designer.

Cuts remaining emissions by more than half

When the door is closed emissions plummet from their already low level.  The firebox temperatures increase once the door is closed which allows even more emissions to be burned off before they can exit the chimney.

Elegant guillotine operation

The door of the Renaissance Rumford™ actually lifts straight up and disappears within the facade above the fireplace.  This method of removing the door is much more sophisticated than a typical fireplace allows for.

Industrial strength, yet smooth functioning

The Renaissance Rumford™ door was designed to be the smoothest operating and most durable guillotine fireplace door ever made.  Making the mechanical components durable enough that they never need to be serviced requires expensive hardware, detailed engineering and precision laser fabrication.

Premium ceramic glass

Ceramic glass can withstand temperatures over three times higher than tempered glass and is much stronger.  Ceramic glass also has a light brown hue versus the blue or green hue of tempered glass and eliminates virtually any glare, regardless of the angle.

Perfectly counterweighted to prevent slamming

The door is perfectly counterweighted and can stop at any point along its track without slamming up or down, despite its heavy weight.

Built-in locking fire screen

The built-in screen locks in place when raised, and lowering the screen is as simple as moving the locking clips and using both hands to bring it down.  Its mesh is fine enough that it won’t take away from your view of the fire, but strong enough to stop a rolling log.

Swings open for easy cleaning and service

The Renaissance Rumford™ door had to be easy to clean and service, even long after the product was installed and the facing finished.  That’s why the door swings open on a hinge, which allows for easy cleaning. Also, its entire door mechanism can be serviced or even changed out completely without damaging any of the decorative facing.
