Awards

The Vesta Awards are the most prestigious awards that exist within the fireplace industry.  They are given for a number of categories ranging from patio and barbecues to wood and gas fireplaces.  The Vesta awards are granted for the most innovative new products every year.  Regardless of marketability, the Vesta award is granted solely on the creative design and engineering of new products.

Each Vesta award is granted to only one entry annually and products can only win the first year they're being shown (thus emphasizing continuing innovation). The Renaissance Rumford™ is the first product ever to win three Vesta awards, which it did in 2008.

The Renaissance was the recipient of the following 3 Vesta awards:

Best New Fireplace:

This award is quite self explanatory, may the best new fireplace win.

The Vesta Challenge:

This was a one-time challenge issued that contested any fireplace manufacturer to be the first to create an open burning fireplace that would be able to burn cleanly. Ideally it would emit below 5.1 g/kg (the predicted ASTM standard), and that’s exactly what we’ve done. Not only did we pass the 5.1 g/kg marker, but we beat it by an additional 40%. So although the Renaissance was the only open fireplace to meet the new ASTM standard, its ultra-low emissions are already a benchmark for future generations of fireplaces to strive to achieve.  Follow this link to read the full Vesta Challenge

Best in Show (Hearth Products):

This award goes to the product considered to be the most innovative of all new hearth products. It is the most sought after of all the Vesta Awards.
